The Diagnostics page is there to check the state of various items

Ping performs a web service call test to confirm that your connection is okay. I have achieved good results when there are more than 50% up to date since last GE update.

Items up to date since last GE update gives you an idea of how many items could still be updated. If the GE update is only in the past few hours this is not significant.

Items that are up to date in the past 7 days - There is no point trying to scan items where you dont have items up to date in the past 7 days

Processing queue shows the items that are scheduled to be checked or updated. This queue will vary on a number of conditions, including market scan items, out of date items and updated ticker items.
